The Wonderful Mutual Love (ステキな両思い Suteki na Ryō-omoi) is the 66th episode of Aikatsu! TV Anime series and the 16th episode of it's "Second Season" (
Synopsis[]
Ki is asked to prove her worth as an idol by taking part in a Brain Thunder Image Girl Audition. While this is a dream come true for her, she has conflicting events all going on at once and struggles to prioritize them.
Summary[]
The girls watch a commercial Seira recently took part in and remark on her mature beauty and elegance, with Aoi wondering if Ki did the commercial. She comments on how talented she is as a producer, then brings up how they haven't seen anybody do this commercial since Mizuki- although Ichigo didn't know about the brand at all, while Ran can clearly remember. They believe Mizuki must be proud to see this.
Meanwhile at Dream Academy, Mizuki is speaking with Tiara. She agrees that she liked the results of the commercial and compliments Ki's wonderful producer skills. Tiara goes on to mention that they were asked to produce another, and Mizuki comments her belief that Ki would be able to shine vibrantly as an Idol and thinks she should go a step further.
In the hall, several students congratulate Seira for a job well done, including complimenting her makeup as they take off. Seira happens to see how delighted Ki is with her efforts and she points out how involved she was in making it a success. Ki promises to work even harder from now on when Tiara approaches them to inform the girls of the upcoming Brain Thunder Image Girl Auditions. She suggests that Ki enters, surprising her greatly.
She and Seira go outside, where she attempts to comprehend why Ki is struggling suddenly. Ki claims that she has to focus on working hard for Seira's next commercial, but Seira convinces her to go for it by reminding Ki that she is the one who loves the Brain Thunder drink the most. She also points out that she likes seeing Ki as an Idol, and hearing this, Ki promises to work really hard to do both jobs well.
At Starlight Academy, Johnny is busy informing Ichigo, Aoi, Ran, and Yurika about the same audition. He brings up how important it is and how he would join it if he could- however, none of them have ever tried this drink before and they struggle identifying it, with the exception of knowing Ki likes it. Ran brings up that she would like to enter, but Aoi reminds her of their prior commitment. Meanwhile, Yurika can't due to being sponsored by another drink that has been commercialized, so it would not be smart to work for competing companies. Ichigo then suggests that since none of them can compete they go to show support to Ki, which they agree to do.
At Dream Academy, Sora is finishing the final touches of Seira's makeup when Seira asks for some inspiration regarding the theme of the next commercial. Curious, Sora asks if she spoke to Ki yet, and Seira explains how she wants to make sure Ki focuses on the brain thunder audition. It's then Sora recalls that the designer for Magical Toy will be in Japan now and Seira decides to go and tell Ki so that she can try to locate him and get a new coord for the auditions. Before she heads off Sora warns her how hard he can be to track down.
In Ki's room Seira finds her not there. She tries to figure out where she could be when a passerby brings up that Ki decided not to return to the room unless it was for bathing, and how she's locked herself up in her lab trying to focus on the commercial.
Seira finds a flustered Ki in the lab; who is in the middle of trying to come up with a commercial idea. She stops for a drink but is depressed to find out that she has finished it all- but luckily Seira thought ahead and grabbed one on her way over. Ki takes a sip and resumes working when Seira recalls what she was told earlier, and Ki explains how she is too busy to return to it now. She brings up the couch she uses for rest and points it out to Seira, who gently scolds her for neglecting her health in such a way and how important sleep is. She brings up that the audition will come soon, but Ki is too focused on her work to pay her attention. Seira then tells her that she wants Ki to think about her own idol career and brings up what Sora told her earlier about Magical Toy's designer, suggesting that she try to find him to try to obtain a Constellation Dress. She is sure with it Ki would win the auditions. Ki agrees, but claims that she needs a few more minutes because she wants to come up with a concept.
After four more drinks Ki remains without an idea and Seira forces her to leave her lab to locate the designer. Ki gets worked up though, not having her computer for help and claims to need it because she is unable to calm down, although Seira is sure she doesn't need it. Suddenly she gets an idea and sits down to give it more thought until Seira convinces her that they need to resume searching. Instead of that, Ki tries going over the ideas she has now, and Seira mentions that she likes them- although she is clearly getting impatient. With no other choice, she tells Ki she is no longer allowed to think about her until after the brain thunder auditions. She storms off after making Ki promise, leaving her to lament Seira's harsh agreement. Unknown to them, Mizuki is shown having witnessed this.
As the sun sets, Ki tries to do some exercise but finds herself still hung up over Seira and not being able to talk to her and work on the commercial. She is surprised when Mizuki suddenly approaches her to chat, and she brings up how talented she believes Ki is. Ki claims this is due to her love for Seira, and Mizuki happily explains that everyone wants Ki to do this audition because they know she can shine for herself; instead of putting all of her efforts into making others shine. She also knows Seira would be happy to see Ki do this because she cares about her as well.
Ki returns to her lab that evening to find a note and drink from Seira. She is relieved knowing Seira isn't mad at her anymore, and that she is cheering her on, and she decides that she has to put more focus into her work.
The next day Ki is out in Old Japan, where the designer of Magical Toy was said to be located. She finds a shop he stopped at and speaks to the woman inside, who informs her that he just left. She runs to the following shop with the same results, causing her to worry that she will miss him. She sits down and quickly leaves a message on her KiraKiratter account to try to get help.
Aoi happens to get this message and this causes them to wonder what could be going on. Ran points out that it is probably to obtain a new dress and they recall her audition, causing them to hurriedly leave in order to help her out.
Elsewhere, Seira's training is interrupted by Sora, who saw the message and wanted to show her. Seira reads over it, and as this is going on Aoi happens to have just gotten a message the designer posted about the lunch he is having. However, they can't recognize the location and Aoi sends a message asking for someone who can to help them. After a fan identifies it as a soba shop that appeared in a magazine recently, another fan brings up how it is located by the TKY TV station.
Now that they have a lead, Ichigo suggests they go to check it out and rush in as Ki is leaving. She is shocked they would be helping her, but deeply touched by their kindness she goes on to bring up how she keeps missing him. Ran points out that if he chose this place for lunch, then he probably has work to do at the TV station and they try to find a way inside.
It's then a yellow vehicle approaches with the Magical Toy logo on it. It takes off and the four give chase, hoping to catch it at red light. Just when it seems like they are reaching him- Ki suddenly feels a cramp in her leg and is forced to stop, causing the others to check on her. Before the vehicle can escape, Seira shows up to chase it down. She apologizes for bothering the designer and his driver and explains Ki's situation and how much she loves Magical Toy. The designer, Marcel, stops and steps outside of the vehicle to personally thank the work out Ki, and before Seira can explain why she had been chasing them, Ki speaks up about her upcoming audition and asks him for the Magical Toy Constellation cards. Due to her love for the brand and the effort she put into reaching him, he agrees and hands them over to her as she promises to do the best she can; to the groups shock she then proceeds to pass out.
Later she wakes up to find the girls worriedly observing her. She is delighted upon realizing the cards are still within her grasp and they compliment her while bring up how happy the designer was knowing how good of a friend she is. He wishes for her to use this coord in order to spread happiness throughout the world.
At the auditions, an announcer speaks to the audience as Seira sees Ki off for the stage and wishes her luck. Ki goes back and changes, appearing on stage where she performs "Magical Time".
After the performance, Mizuki and Tiara are outside talking. Mizuki explains that she has lived her life being supported by so many people as an Idol, and now she wants to spend the rest of her life supporting them. With that she begins to walk away.
