Summer Idol Story (サマーアイドルストーリー) is the 92nd episode of Aikatsu! TV anime series and the 42nd episode of its "2nd Season" (
Story[]
The girls arrive to their final performance as Aikatsu8 and in order to remember the fun they shared they hold a party. But in this time, Ichigo finds herself distracted by Mizuki's words from the start of the tour...
Summary[]
One evening Ichigo talks with Aoi and Ran on the phone to update them on how things have been going. She mentions that there will be a pajama party as they are on their way to the last tour stop an Aoi excitedly requests Ichigo take pictures for her. Ichigo agrees before bringing up what Mizuki said to her back when the tour began, asking for their opinions. She isn't sure about the answer yet, but she hopes to find it before the concert ends.
It's then Seira comes into the room to suggest they meet up with the other soon. Before she hangs up, Aoi tells Ichigo to have fun and they say their farewells. Ichigo and Seira hurriedly meet up with the others and apologize for being a bit behind and the party soon begins; with Ichigo expressing surprise to learn that Seira got the picture request from Ki too. While the girls agree that it's alright, Yurika remains a little hesitant at first but they resume the party. As the girls hang out and eat, they chat about how the tour went and how much fun they had, and they share some other experiences, such as when Dream Academy and WM appeared. Mizuki enjoys getting to talk to the girls and she expresses interest in seeing how everyone's story will turn out in the future.
Later, Otome is shown to be sleeping peacefully as Yurika tries calming down Ferry. Ichigo is unable to sleep and she gets up to exit into the hallway, where she runs into Seira, who is struggling as well. They were both thinking about Aikatsu's future and are still no closer to an answer. It's then they overhear noise and peek nto the nearby room to find Mikuru studying. She sees them and invites them to join her as she was about to go on break, and she explains that because she is so behind compared to everyone else, she often spends the night practicing her Aikatsu. By September they will surpass Masquerade, and she is sure that if she and Mizuki can do this their unknown futures will broaden. This seems to satisfy the girls and they take off to try to get to sleep, unaware of Mizuki observing them.
The following day a reporter discusses the last Aikatsu8 performance that day. He mentions how popular the previous performances had been and goes to the fans to show some of their responses.
As the girls reach the concert hall Mizuki goes over the plans she has before they head into the waiting room. Soon a woman calls and tells the girls they are ready.
As this is going on, Ki has joined Aoi and Ran to chat about the performance. They all have some devices set up so that they can watch as they take breaks from their work.
The girls head down the long hallway towards the stage as a man introduces the girls one by one, allowing the fans to cheer for everyone and the pictures they took the previous evening. As the girls stand aside, Mizuki compliments the idea they came up with to inclue them, and the girls share a final group cheer before appearing on stage to speak to the audience and share some words.
Everyone leaves to get ready, and Mizuki and Mikuru reappear to have a conversation before the audience and entice them further. Ichigo watches from the sideline as Seira joins her when Ichigo brings up her admiration for Mizuki. She wishes to surpass her one day, and she thinks with Seira by her side they can go anywhere. Seira agrees and tells Ichigo that together they will surpass WM. The future of Aikatsu is broadening and they are all ready to advance their unknown futures.
Ready to perform, everyone changes into the Aikatsu8 unit coord and they reappear on stage to perform "SHINING LINE*".
With the performance over, the girls prepare for home and the fans see them off. They solemly ride the bus, feeling saddened now that their time together is over. Noticing how sad Yurika looks, Mikuru playfully welcomes her to pay a visit to Ferry any time she would like, she then tells the other girls that even though Aikatsu8 is over they will all still be doing Aikatsu together. Everyone agrees and perks up again when suddenly, Ichigo claims she now has her answer. Mizuki asks to hear her and Ichigo says that while she doesn't know what her future holds, she will surpass WM. The girls seemed shocked except for Mizuki, who remarks that Ichigo will stand on stage with her again, much to Ichigo and Seira's confusion.
