Aim To Be☆Perfect Partners (めざせ☆最高のパートナー) is the 82nd episode of Aikatsu! TV anime series and the 32nd episode of its "2nd Season" (
The episode's scenario was written by Natsuko Takahashi.
Story[]
After WM's incredible performance, Ichigo and Seira realize that Mizuki and Mikuru are each others perfect partner. Now that it's their turn, can they overtake the rising duo with their combination?
Summary[]
After watching the recent news report about the Partner Cup, Raichi and Noel decide to visit their sisters in the dressing room. Their performance is approaching and both are anxiously worrying over how well they will do. Their younger siblings shut the door, deciding not to bother them.
They decide to go and pay Aoi and Ki a visit next; with both of them expressing concern for their friends. But after the WM performance they can't say they blame them for being shaken up suddenly. But they also think the duo will be okay, and they prepare to leave the room in order to go and wish them luck until Raichi stops them to bring up the text he put out earlier. When nobody can understand it, Noel takes an attempt at explaining what he was trying to get across.
As they prepare to leave, Ki and Aoi adoringly begin to call Raichi cute names, delighted in his brotherly nature towards Ichigo. Aoi then stops to muse on how much he's grown since they last met. With that, she and Ki head over to pay Ichigo and Seira a visit, but when she isn't there. Ichigo explains that normally she and Seira are able to keep each other going and full of energy, but after that performance neither of them are too confident. With some time before they need to go on stage, Seira decided to head off to relax. Ki decides to look for her, leaving Aoi and Ichigo behind in the room. She reminds Ichigo that next to WM, Ichigo and Seira are the top partner unit; although these words only stress Ichigo out further. But she's actually more worried over being Seira's perfect partner and wonders if she is holding her back.
Meanwhile Ki is wandering through the hall when she finds Seira in the middle of practicing dance. She happily greets her and Seira confesses to being worried, so by doing this she is able to regain her focus and calm down. Lately she's been putting a lot of thought into how she and Ichigo can become better partners who will surpass WM. She worries she may be holding Ichigo back.
Aoi and Ki reunite and decide to speak to Ran and Sora, who they find nearby and quickly bring up their growing anxiety. Realizing how much both girls feel the same, Ran and Sora believe the duo are already perfect partners; they just need to see it. Kaede and Yurika join them afterwards and bring up watching Splash perform, and next will be Sakura and Satsuki, then Otome and Maria. They decided to let them and the others know, so together everyone returns to the stage to watch Sakura and Satsuki perform. They remark on how new and fresh their performance was, then bring up how cute Otome and Maria's performance was.
With Yurika and Kaede's turn approaching the girls decide to take off to prepare when they are stopped by Ichigo. She asks if they feel nervous and they admit that while they do, they're more excited about going out and just having fun together. This strikes something within Ichigo and she rejoins the others as they take their turn.
Everyone is surprised and wowed by the show-stopping performance Yurika and Kaede put on, and in this time Seira and Ichigo start realizing something. Ki and Aoi then head off to take their turn, then Sora and Ran. To their surprise, Ran and Sora both make a mistake midstep, but rather then get worked up they work with this and put on a dazzling finish.
Backstage, Ichigo asks Ran if she was nervous and brings up the accident, but Ran claims that because she had Sora with her, she felt fine. Sora agrees, saying that she felt close to Ran while on the stage and she was really happy to perform with her again. They are joined again by Aoi and Ki, who reveal to Ichigo and Seira that while they were stressing out they didn't realize that they were already closely connected. They worried over holding each other back because of how talented and great the other one is- whether they realize it or not they are each others perfect partner, so they should just go out and have some fun. They will do better if they realize this.
As performances continue, Tiara and Orihime chat while observing them with Johnny. They agree on how excited they feel watching everyone, but they wonder if anyone will be able to surpass WM.
In the dressing room, Mizuki is busy with flower arranging while Mikuru asks her how she can stay so calm seeing how well everyone is doing. Mizuki comments on how antsy Mikuru has become and compares the situation to the flowers, and seeing Mikuru suddenly get excited, Mizuki remarks on how she enjoys seeing her like this.
Back stage Seira and Ichigo chat with one-another again. They plan to put on a great performance and feel better now. They prepare to say something, and to their surprise they realize how much alike they actually are- they went to say the same thing. Holding the other back isn't the thing to focus on right now, so they decide to stop thinking about it. They change into their chosen coords and reappear on stage to perform "Sweet Sp!ce".
Afterwards, the announcements are held; but to everyone's shock nobody was able to beat or even tie with WM. As disappointing as this is nobody seems to mind very much, because in the end they grew close bonds and had a lot of fun.
Back in their dressing room, Seira and Ichigo mention that they wish they could have done better, but they had so much fun, and some day they believe they will be able to defeat WM. It's then Mizuki and Mikuru show up to compliment their performance. Even if they didn't win this time, it's impossible to say who will be in first place next time. Ichigo and Seira take off for outside after, growing quiet momentarily before they resume speaking. They bring up how excited they feel for a chance to perform with each other again next time, then they separate and head for home.
