The Idol is the Santa Claus! (アイドルはサンタクロース！) is the 62nd episode of the Aikatsu! TV Anime series and the 12th episode of it's "Second Season" (２年目 2-nen me, lit. "Second Year"), this episode was aired on December 19, 2013.
Story
Starlight Academy and Dream Academy's meetup Christmas Party has been decided. But when many obstacles threaten to get in the way the two Academy's work together to have the best Christmas Party ever!
Synopsis
Tiara is speaking to Ki, Seira, and Sora about the recent popularity of Dream Academy because of them. Due to their efforts she tells them to have fun during Dream Academy's Christmas Party, but Seira is shown expressing confusion as she has never heard of it before. Ki requests producing the party and Tiara agrees, so she assigns Sora to handle decorations.
Meanwhile, the girls chat about their Christmas Party from the year prior. Sakura mentions hearing of it, and Kaede brings up how she saw the broadcast of it online. Otome brings up how they put the old tree to good use, recycling it for things like new cutting boards, chopsticks, tables, and various other wood products. Sakura is excited to see what will happen this year, while Kaede is excited to see the Christmas Cake. This reminds them that Ichigo will be staring in a special holiday broadcast and they turn the television on to watch. On this program they see Asuka being interviewed as the man holding it brings up that she was designing a Christmas cake this year, instead of a dress. She hasn't done it before but she likes to make anything that would bring joy and happiness to others.
The girls at Dream Academy are shown watching this broadcast as well, with Sora especially taking Asuka's words to heart as a fellow designer. They admire the brand new, sparkling dress-cake being worked on as the girl bringing it out is revealed to be Ichigo; as well as the decoration for this piece. It is described as resembling the brand new dress by Angely Sugar: the Sweet Decoration. While the girls are impressed, Sora claims she would make a few changes as Ki decides to send messages to every member of both schools about having a Christmas Party.
In Orihime's office, Johnny seems to be against it due to their rivalries but Orihime is looking forward to it, saying it could be fun. She also points out that due to it airing on television this would score both schools a lot of attention, and plenty of fans will be watching too.
Back at Dream Academy, Ki is informing Sora and Seira over how much the party has been trending since their announcement. As this is going on Sora observes images while thinking up inspiration, and Seira waches them both while voicing her own excitement.
Soon, the various members from both schools travel to the snow-covered mountains to meet up at a big cabin they will be using for the Party when they stop to admire the tree near it. They are surprised to see that Ichigo remembered her axe from last year in case they would need it- but they claim they probably won't. They are excited to be getting together and chat as a mysterious figure nearby observes them. They head inside and begin to prepare; putting up decorations, decorating the Christmas tree outside as Sora watches and comments on various things, and make food.
While Ichigo is in the middle of decorating she is interrupted by Raichi and Noel, who have come to do a special article for the Christmas edition of their Aikatsu Wall Newspaper. It's only published in their homes, but they're still excited. Raichi runs off as Ichigo wishes Noel an early happy birthday, since it falls on the same day as the big event the following day. Noel thanks Ichigo and runs off to catch up with Raichi. She is then surprised to find Sora playing with her hair, but she is excited to meet her regardless. Sora remarks on how she feels as though she has known Ichigo for a long time, then opens her notebook to reveal the Aikatsu Christmas Party Special Super-Sized Christmas Cake she designed.
Later, the narrator of the special brings up that during commercial break, they had been informed of the girls' plan to make a super-sized version of the Sparkling Dress Cake for the party. Sora is asked to give a few words while being recorded, and she is asked to explain why she wants to make it so big. She brings up how she approached Asuka for advice and to request permission to make this and she gave her full support. Suddenly Ki interrupts for her own say in the interview while Seira, Noel, and Raichi watch.
The girls discuss how things are so far going and Ichigo takes a moment to thank Sora for her idea. Sora explains how much making this party work out means to her, since she only does things for the sake of bringing joy to others. It's then Ki is called to be informed that the lifts for the mountain have stalled, so the Patissiers wont be able to come and make the cake for them. Ran points out that if the snow slows down then they will get the lifts working again, but they can't just wait and Ki begins to panic. Sora suggests that since she's always made her clothing with just her hands, they should be able to make the cake by themselves too. The girls agrees, with both Seira and Ichigo being good at baking, and Aoi is able to secure the recipe from the Patissiers. Ran is sure if everyone works together they will get it taken care of and they get to work with their new plan.
Ichigo chops wood while Aoi puts it in a basket Ran is carrying, who then hands it to Yurika and Otome so that they can put it into the fire place. Outside, Kaede and Sakura are picking fruits, and once everyone finishes they return to the Kitchen to put the layers of cake together and apply the frosting once it has cooled enough. Afterwards the work on decorations as the staff for the special film everything going on.
Eventually the girls finish and now they just need is the giant Ichigo doll- but suddenly remembering that the Patissiers were supposed to bring it, Ki begins worrying again and fears she is a big failure. She calms down by deciding to punish herself later and Sora suggests they just make one since they were able to make the cake. However, the man recording this reminds them that they need to get onto stage and perform soon, so there isn't enough time. Sora refuses to give up and suddenly inspired, she tells Ichigo her idea- only to learn that she had the same one.
While she is busy preparing the girls run off to change into their chosen coords for the performance and reappear on stage to perform "We Wish You A Merry Christmas".
After the performance, Otome announces the cake with the other girls. Sora then takes over to announce that they will be putting in their final decoration of the cake: Ichigo. With some help, she takes her proper place on the top of the giant cake and everyone shares a cheer as she wishes them a Merry Christmas.
