Story[]
The idols of Starlight School have received an offer for the CM of "Happiness Toys", a newly standing toy brand sponsored by a major toy manufacturer! Not only an offer was received, the key to success may be found within the grasps of "the very first product's" planning stages.
Summary[]
Akari, Sumire, Hinaki, Juri, Rin, Madoka, Nono, and Lisa have been called in Orihime's office, where she informs them of a brand new commercial they have been requested participating in. The girls are excited as they realize the brand they will be sponsoring is the famous Dandai- which they all played with as children. Naoto brings up how popular the previous commercial had been with Nono and Lisa, which is why they were chosen to be included. Orihime mentions that with the girls aid they will be releasing "Happiness Toys", but she says no more, deciding to let the people working the project to finish telling the girls everything. Johnny gives them a vote of confidence.
The girls arrive at the Dandai building and are very excited. Juri recalls the brand motto and Rin comments on this when they spot a toy based on the Dancing Diva microphone. Rin recalls being informed of this, along with Sumire. Hinaki and Madoka observe some items in shelves, while Nono shows Lisa the section of Gachapon machines. Nono fawns over them and wishes she could play them, until Lisa gently scolds her and reminds her of their job.
A girl named Nakaya introduces herself to the group, explaining that she is the Project Leader of Happiness Toys. She recognizes each girl and hyperly fawns over them, excited to get to work. She quickly apologizes for this an explains how she's never met an idol in-person before, and she leads the girls down the hallway while explaining the brand. Happiness Toys was made to provide fun for girls who dream of becoming idols themselves. The girls find this an interesting concept, and Nakaya mentions how important this first line would be for their toys.
At the meeting room she explains her desire of working from the ground up, revealing a room full of objects and toys. To make marketing analysis they gather children to hear their thoughts and opinions on the toys and product ideas; they are what matter the most since they are the target audience. The children spot the Idols and quickly start to cling to them in adoration; from girls who flock to Juri as fans of Aikatau Sensei, to a shy girl who likes Akari and watches her weather program, girls who compliment Sumire's singing, and children who crowd around Madoka and Rin as they make poses for them. Nono and Lisa watch from the side, surprised when a young girl approaches them and mentions seeing them on television.
As the girls interact with the children Nakaya makes notes, and Akari lets them see her Aikatsu Cards and comments on how much they seem to like them. Together everyone sits own to chat with Nakaya, who reveals her plans to produce Aikatsu Dolls in order to fulfill the dream of girls who love the Dresses from Aikatsu Cards. The girls approve of the concept, but Nakaya reveals the one hitch to this: they need the top designers to sign off on the idea in order to make the dresses accurately. Nakaya brings up how special these dolls will be to the children getting them, which makes Akari recall how attached she was to Angely Bear when she was little. When she saw the commercial Ichigo made, she fell in love with it and just had to get one. She got it for her birthday and loved it as much as she could, sleeping with it every night and giving it lots of hugs. Madoka comments that her grandmother would really like to hear this, and Lisa recalls how Madoka is related to Amahane afterwards, while Nono mentions always wanting what Lisa got, because her birthday was a month before hers.
After they finish Nakaya thanks the girls and they take off while chatting about the commercial meeting they have the next day. They notice that Akari seems a bit quiet and question this, and Akari mentions her desire to bring in as much passion as they witnessed with Nayaka, which the other girls agree with. So they decide to brainstorm some good ideas and keep in mind several things: Aikatsu Dolls, Presents, and Fun. They also want it to provide comfort. An idea suddenly strikes Akari.
The stage is being worked on, and Orihime, Naoto, and Johnny were invited to check it out. Johnny mentions the theme being, "welcome to our home party", which he eagerly anticipates while they discuss their wise idea.
In order to get into the mood and determine how the commercial should go, the girls discussing the various things they would do at a home party. Such as Hinaki preparing refreshments with her mother, and Juri watching her mother put on a scene from her show to amaze the guests. Madoka recalls her own, along with assisting Amahane with hers by bringing presents into the room and visiting the Top Designers, which Rin finds to be a bit awkward when she thinks about how different they all are. Nono recalls the Fresh Potato Parties they would host back at home, in which everyone in the neighborhood came together at their house and they made all sorts of potato dishes and have a nice time together.
The girls are joined by Nakaya, who shows them the prototype Aikatsu Doll. The girls are amazed by their cuteness as they realize the dolls look like them, and they note how much detail was captured in each doll and how they include the various coords each girls wear. Juri takes this as a sign that she got the Top Designers approval and Nakaya mentions how eagerly they all consented to the idea; but she never got Akari or Madoka's dolls back yet. She had shown Tsubasa the doll of Akari and he seemed to agree with the idea, but he thinks something is off and refused to hand it over until he figured out what it was.
Meanwhile, she couldn't even contact Amahane since she is so busy right now. Madoka recalls how frequent this is at this time of year, and they head to Angely Mountain to see if they can speak to her. While waiting Madoka leads Nakaya and Akari to a room full of Angely Bears. There they find Amahane and Madoka explains how busy she is stitching life into each and every bear; she puts her emotions into every single one. This is why she was so happy listening to Akari's story from the other day, because she could feel her grandmothers feelings in it. Amahane is now aware of the girls and Nakaya introduces herself to her, quickly revealing the doll of Madoka she made. Amahane compliments it until she spots one little thing that seems to be missing. She then starts sewing something onto the skirt and Madoka recalls that her grandmother always hand sews everything. This is her way of bringing her own, personal magic to the items. Nakaya also asks if they can include Angely Bear in the commercial for Happiness Party, mentioning how it would perfectly display those feelings she wants to convey- the same feelings she wants to obtain from the Aikatsu Dolls. Amahane agrees seeing how passionate she is for the future of her brand.
Over the time the finishing details were put together. Besides holding meetings the girls got to work practicing for the commercial and rehearsing, and they prepared for its shooting day as word spread of the new toy series.
Eventually the day for the commercial airing arrived. As Akari stands by herself in the studio, Tsubasa appears to bring her the doll. Akari compliments it and he explains that he took the time to ensure everything was perfect and that every detail was correct.
The commercial starts, showing Akari sitting on bed as she observes the night sky. She sees a tiny Ozorotter and follows him outside, being led down a path as she meets the other girls. Togeher they float through the evening sky while holding balloons, surrounded by toys. They arrive to a party room they set up, and as the moon brilliantly shines they have fun playing and dressing up Ozorotter. Children from all over awaken to observe the sky as well and arrive to the party, Ozorotter greets them and a present box explodes to release the dolls and toys. As the children enjoy them the group watch from nearby and the commercial comes to an end, with a final shot featuring their dolls sitting with Angely Bear.
