The Dazzling Luminas (輝きのルミナス) is the 147th episode of Aikatsu! TV anime series and the 46th episode of its "3rd Season" (
Story[]
Soleil has returned from their tour and are performing in the Great Starlight School Festival. In order to perform, you must be a trio unit. Akari wants to participate and invites Sumire and Hinaki to join her unit...
Summary[]
Hinaki watches a program regarding Aikatsu8 and their recent concerts when Akari and Sumire join her. They reveal their desire to form a unit with Hinaki for the Great Starlight School Festival, and because the three of them had the same plan of asking the other two, they eagerly agree.
Around campus, everyone is going on about the exciting trio-unit festival approaching. As Hinaki observes a poster, she is joined by Juri, who brought her some orange juice to deal with the summer heat. They sit down together and explains what her plans will be, and Juri mentions that she was planning on asking Madoka and Rin to do the same. However, as she is speaking she notices how quiet Hinaki has become, and Hinaki admits that she was frustrated over not making it into Aikatsu8, and this worries her because she thinks she might not be good enough to be with Sumire and Akari in a trio. But at the same time, not being chosen made her strive for something further. She hands Juri the empty glass and runs off to work in a perked up mood.
Hinaki goes for a jog through town, encouraging herself to work even harder now. She happens to spot a few girls and thinks over how well coordinated their outfits are while continuing her jog.
Meanwhile, Kayoko approaches a few stage workers for an update as Orihime joins her with the request to stay in observation of the photo-shoot since her appointment ended early. Kayoko allows it, very happy to have her there and mentions that Hinaki will be coming soon. As it turns out, Orihime actually wished to speak to Hinaki, having been aware of her shock regarding Aikatsu8. She thinks about the girls who got into it this year, and brings up how the girls activities was taken into consideration by the fans. Hinaki gained a huge deal of popularity as a representative model in a fashion magazine, and has been appearing on numerous magazine covers as of late. However, she compares her to another fashion-oriented idol, Ran, saying that her effort and work had made her suitable for the muse of Spicy Ageha's top designer. Kayoko says that Hinaki has put in her own devotion and effort and tells Orihime not to worry over her.
It's then Hinaki runs inside and greets everyone, only to react with surprise spotting her headmistress there. She comments on her good mood and Hinaki explains that she ran here today in order to build up strength. While doing so she also learned what was currently fashionable now. Kayoko is pleased hearing this and Hinaki heads off to change.
Eventually Hinaki finishes and heads over to watch the filming of Aikatsu Sensei. She thanks Juri for allowing this, and she plans to learn a lot from her acting. Juri encourages her and Hinaki wishes her luck as the rehearsal begins.
Later, Hinaki decides to do some training. She jumps on the trampoline to practice her poses, then stops for a break before thinking of her next plan. She recalls that the girls need a unit name and makes an attempt to think of one, but as she struggles with this Johnny-sensei appears to reveal Kayoko called for her. She wants Hinaki to come back for a few more shots for the Vivid Kiss collection, causing Hinaki to worry that she messed up as she boards the transfer van in a hurry.
Upon arrival she greets everyone and Kayoko apologizes for making her come at the last-second like this, but Hinaki apologizes on her own behalf, causing Kayoko some confusion. Once Hinaki claims the first set of photos must have been bad, Kayoko quickly calms her by saying she actually really liked them- she had a greedy reason for calling her, she created a brand new coord and wanted her to wear it. While overlooking the various girls they took pictures of, she was inspired upon viewing Hinaki's and got so many ideas that she hurriedly got to work to put them together, and she reveals to her the Fine Drum Coord. She explains what story inspired it before Hinaki compliments the wonderful outfit, then she asks Kayoko to allow her to wear it right away. Kayoko teases her a little and she heads off to change, then they get some pictures.
While watching Hinaki, Kayoko thinks about the important things for a model. They have to be able to display the appeal of their outfits and themselves, and she knows that Hinaki has learned this and is able to show it for everyone to see.
With that the days flew by. The girls focused on their lessons, work, and training, and soon The Great Starlight Festival event would be approaching.
One morning, Akari is going through her weather program. She reveals the time and weather forecast and she wishes for everyone's health during this warm day. After she finishes, she goes over her plans for the day, and realizing that she actually has the afternoon off, she'll do some shopping. She changes and purchases a crepe from a stand she never visited before, then starts screaming upon spotting something amazing. She quickly takes a picture of it and contacts Hinaki and Sumire- who have been trying to come up with some name ideas for their unit. Seeing her urgency they run to the location and Akari points to the display, revealing its a large image of Hinaki, dressed in the new coord. She hears many girls speak of her and how much they like her, and in this moment a name befitting the trio seems to come to Hinaki. She reveals her idea -Luminas- to them and they take a liking to it.
With their new idol unit formed and a name, Hinaki heads out to the debut performance they will be giving when she runs into Kayoko, who has come to see it. Hinaki is touched and admits that she lost her confidence and felt bad after not making it into Aikatsu8- but now, she has seen that her hard work is paying off and her confidence has returned. She asks that Kayoko continues to be there for her and she agrees before deciding that Hinaki is her muse. She explains what this means to Hinaki and she thanks her before being joined by Sumire and Akari. They take off and Kayoko heads to the audience area.
Back stage, the girls compliment each others special coords and their plan to wear them together. With Hinaki in the Fine Drum, Akari wearing Girly Violin, and Sumire in the Flute Mystery. Sharing a quick cheer the girls run through the changing area and appear on stage, performing "Little beat, Little wing♪".
Afterwards, the girls head outside and comment on how much fun they had together. They agree to make the Starlight Festival just as exciting and fun and share another cheer.
