Johnny and The Bride (ジョニーと花嫁) is the 139th episode of Aikatsu! TV anime series and the 38th episode of its "3rd Season" (
Story[]
Speaking of June, the first thing that comes to mind would be a "June Bride"! And, during a wedding ceremony, when you are longing for a chat with someone, Akari and Sumire's Wedding Collection Stage Offer will come in to surprise you. And to Johnny, the "Important Day that only Appears Once in a Lifetime" is getting closer and closer...!
Summary[]
Akari is busy recording a segment of Oozora Weather, and after Oozorotter reveals it will be rainy she asks everyone to take care of their health before ending the program.
Meanwhile, the girls are hanging out in the dance room, disappointed by the weather since they can't go outside to run or train. Juri still likes June even if it is raining, because her parents got married this month, and it is said that if one marries in June they are promised eternal happiness. The girls find this romantic as Akari joins them, but to her surprise she and Sumire get a text from Headmistress Orihime, so they leave for her office.
With Naoto, Orihime informs them of an offer they got for a special Bridal Collection; they specifically requested two currently trending idols. Akari and Sumire agree without hesitation and eagerly chat about what they and each other will be wearing after they take off. It's then they overhear Johnny-sensei discuss a wedding through the phone, and after he hangs up and leaves the room they curiously wonder what was going on.
They head back to tell the other girls what they heard, such as Johnny mentioning not much time before the wedding. They find the news a bit hard to believe since he's always at school working. Honestly the idea of even meeting a woman he could marry makes them laugh, but he overhears them and asks about their discussion since it sounded like fun. The group quickly try denying anything of the sort, with Hinaki quickly claiming it was about their unit donuts. The others catch on and quickly agree, and Juri manages to convince him to leave and order some from Yotsuba.
The girls continue to discuss the possibility of Johnny marrying and think he could be with Orihime since he's always at school, and wanting to find out more the girls decide to spy on them. They hear Johnny apologizing to Orihime, and due to their ambiguous words they start to believe they were right, until they spot him in nice clothing and heading out of the building. As they wonder if he's going out on a date, Hinaki sadly informs Akari that she has to leave due to work, along with Juri, Kokone, and Miyabi.
Akari, Sumire, Rin, and Madoka grab their umbrella and trail Johnny-sensei all the way to Dream Academy. Having never come here before they are excited, and after Madoka wonders if the person he's marrying comes from there, they observe him speak to a man and step inside. They follow until the man stops them to ask if they have permits when a vehicle comes by -much to the girls' surprise- to reveal Seira, Maria, Kii, and Sora inside. The man greets them and the girls invite the foursome inside.
Akari thanks the girls for their help as Kii excitedly takes pictures of the girls to show Aoi later. Sora mentions that they tend to trade information all the time after Sumire brings up how close they are and Madoka compliments Sora, regarding her designer and modeling career on top of being an idol. Sora recalls meeting Asuka a while back for some help, and Maria and Rin chat about Maria Zoo, Rin being a big fan. Maria thanks her before bringing up that a few weeks prior, Yurika came on with Alan, her bat friend. Kii then points out that Maria will be in a milk commercial soon, and the music will be performed by Seira and her band. Akari voices excitement, and it dons on Seira to remind the girls of their sudden showing up.
The girls explain what happened and Kii theorizes that the only person here he could be marrying would be Tiara. The eight girls spy on them to find Tiara and Johnny practicing their dancing, in which she gently criticizes him for getting so emotional and not leading correctly. The girls are led to believe their theory is correct and with that, take off back for Starlight Academy. While they discuss the last few minutes of their conversation with the Dream Academy girls, Rin happens to spot Naoto further down the path and recalling he is related to Tiara, the girls decide to congratulate him on the upcoming event. However, Naoto is clueless.
That evening, while they are in bed Sumire and Akari discuss doing something special for Johnny. But unsure of what that could be, they decide to go to bed.
The next day, Akari and Sumire have just finished doing some of the work for their concert when Akari recalls that Sumire has some Dancing Diva work to do. Sumire says farewell and leaves, and Akari begins to observe some nearby wedding dresses until she spots Sena. She runs up to him and he recalls that she will be performing in this event, and she shows him the coord she plans to wear. It's one he designed, and she asks why he is there. Sena observes a nearby dress and brings up his desire to someday produce one in the future, so he came by to study some of them. Akari asks him to design her wedding dress, and he teasingly agrees.
Sumire and Akari confront Orihime on what they found out, but she is shocked by the news and asks why she wasn't chosen. The girls are shocked by this and leave, unaware of the context she was using under the belief she has feelings for Johnny. Sumire doesn't believe that to be the case, but they are unable to chat further when Johnny approaches to thank them for wanting to celebrate the wedding with him and explains that he requested the performance because he thinks the bride would like it. Suddenly emotional, Johnny forces himself to calm down when the girls agree to lend a hand and he takes off. Akari and Sumire are excited and they promise to put on their best performance.
Eventually the day of the ceremony arrives. The girls feel a little nervous, but they are happy to see the beautiful weather. Orihime points out the bridegroom nearby and they are shocked to find out that it isn't Johnny after all. The bride addresses Johnny personally, and the girls realize she is his little sister, Johnny isn't getting married after all.
At Dream Academy, the four girls have just found out the same by asking Tiara. She wonders why they ask, and they bring up watching them dancing together the other day. She explains that she was asked to be Johnny's dance partner. He wanted to lead his sister properly for the dance, since it was her most important day. She then asks the girls if they really thought it was her, somewhat disapproving, causing the girls to awkwardly laugh as Ki admits that they did, just a little.
At Starlight Academy, Akari and Sumire have revealed the news to the other girls who express amusement in this.
Everyone claps and cheers for the bride and groom and a woman announces that it is time for Johnny to dance with his little sister. He leads her while Orihime reveals that his father died when he was younger, and since then he acted as a father figure to Elisa while they grew up. While they dance, Johnny and Elisa make small talk with each other, and Akari watches with amazement as they finish. With that, the girls go to change into their coords and appear on stage, performing "Hey! Little Girl".
Afterwards, Orihime congratulates the girls for their job well done. By now the party has ended, and she mentions the great choice they made with the coords and song as Johnny joins them in agreement. As they observe his sister, they watch as Johnny begins to cry. He claims to be very happy, and he congratulates his little sister.
