Story[]
Despite being a new idol Rin Kurosawa has already received her first offer for a stage performance and she attempts to obtain a Premium Rare Dress from Dance Fusion. Meanwhile, Johnny-sensei has become anxious realizing he will be visiting his old partner.
Summary[]
Akari and Rin have just finished training for the day. As they towel off, Rin expresses delight in being trained under Johnny and claims that all aspiring dancers look up to him. He is happy to hear this as she starts going crazy over his well-known pose, then she pauses to thank Akari for joining her. Akari compliments her and Johnny gives Rin advice, saying she should always keep dancing until she no longer can, and to show everyone on stage this passion.
It's then Naoto and Orihime join them to speak about a job offer that came in involving a big event known as Super Dance World. They want to have Rin dance for the show and Akari tells her to make sure her performance counts, then comments on how she will need an outfit. She asks Rin if she has a favorite brand and after she answers "Dance Fusion", she reveals a recent rumor announcing that the first Premium outfit will be coming out soon. After Akari points out that it is still fairly new, Orihime reveals that the top designer was Johnny's partner in the past, a man named Sunny.
Outside the girls take another break and begin discussing Johnny and Sunny's partnership in the past. Rin reveals that they had been the first performance she saw when she was five, after her interest in street dancing began. It was so exciting and everyone was blown away by them, and its because of them she loves dancing so much now.
As the girls head to the Cafeteria, Akari claims she can understand why Rin had so much fun. She would love to see them dance together, with Rin agreeing as Yotsuba approaches to reveal that he even took lessons from them back when he was an idol. Rin feels momentarily jealous hearing this, and he continues on to say that he initially didn't know Sunny quit dancing to become a designer, which causes their mood to become sullen until he points out that because Sunny was so stylish, he's bound to have some amazing outfits.
The girls are joined by Sumire and Madoka, and they resume discussion on the Premium Outfit. Rin is planning to get it no matter what and while Sumire looks up the brand, she gets into a quick rant over how amazing Sunny is. From the fact he is a designer to the fact that he understands how easily the clothing needs to be for the idol to move in. After she calms herself down, the girls share a laugh before Akari points out what it takes for a girl to obtain the Premium Dress, with Madoka saying it won't be easy- but nothing deters Rin's determination.
Elsewhere, Johnny has been hanging up his wet laundry. He stops to compliment that Akari's weather report was right, then observes his track suit as it dries. He thinks back to his time dancing with Sunny and is joined by the girls, sitting down with them to talk. He agrees that this brand is perfect for Rin, but the girls want to know more about Sunny. Before he can say anything, Rin points out Johnny's name is only his stage name, much to Akari's shock. But he refuses to tell her his true name. Rin asks to meet Sunny but Johnny is forced to admit he hasn't seen him in years, thinking back to when their dance unit ended, when Sunny reveals his intention to quit in order to become a designer. He was surprised but could see Sunny made up his mind, and he promised to raise idols fit to wear his outfits, and Sunny promises to make those suitable for dancers. They said goodbye and Johnny wished him luck.
Rin suddenly interrupts to proclaim that she will become this idol. She will light up the stage with his clothing and mentions her desire to see them dance again; which resonates within both Akari and Johnny.
Later the duo head to where the design studio is. Rin hesitates before approaching the door, but her anxiety gets the better of her and she trips, slamming her hand on the doorbell. After a voice begins to speak, she is too nervous to say anything so Akari steps in. She introduces themselves and reveals they come from Starlight School.
He invites the in and the girls curiously observe the office when Sunny approaches, bringing them in for some tea and donuts they brought with them. They start the discussion by bringing up Yotsuba and how he has become a chef now, then he compliments the donut before teasingly remarking on the weight he's put on now that he isn't dancing. The girls awkwardly respond in hopes of not offending him and he gets up to show them that he can still dance pretty good though, and they are left amazed by his skills, and Akari takes note of how he thanks her by refering to her as honey, like Johnny does. He seems curious by this and teasingly asks about him still using that even though he's a teacher now.
Rin shows off her own dancing skills and he's approving of them, asking her why she's come today. After Rin reveals it was for the dress he decides she can have it once she shows him more of her dance. Rin agrees and she leaves the room to put on a better outfit, and she impresses the both of them. After she finishes, Sunny gets up to reveal his Premium Dress, the Soul Marionette, then changes the outfit into a set of cards, handing them over with some words of encouragement. Rin promises she will do her best, but she asks that Sunny and Johnny reunite and dance on stage again one day. He is happy to see she feels this way but admits that since their last performance, their paths will cross, but they're not meant to be on the same road again. His path is the designers path, while Johnny's is that of a teacher.
Later, Johnny stops Rin as she dances when he notices she's become "off" lately. Rin apologizes and he asks that she confides in him, leading Rin to ask him why they won't be dancing together again; it would mean so much to her if they did. He claims they are still a team despite not being on the same paths anymore, then he asks Rin to give it some thought because he is sure she'll figure it out. With that he excuses Rin.
Rin makes her way to the dorms and thinks over his words of friendship and teams, but she can't figure it out. She stops upon hearing Akari in the room practicing her weather report with Sumire, Hinaki, and Juri, and watches from the doorway as the topic shifts to their own plans. She sees how supportive they are for each other and she eagerly runs in to announce realizing what Johnny told her. The four girls are very differet but they are great friends; Akari agrees with this, saying in the past they felt the same way she did until they figured that out. She tells Rin to chase after her dream.
The following day she runs back to visit Sunny and tells him the dream she wishes to follow. He tells her the same words that Johnny told her sometime prior, and they share a laugh before her performance day approaches. Rin gives herself one last vote of confidence and she changes into her brand new premium rare dress, appearing on stage to perform "MY SHOW TIME!".
As this is going on, Johnny and Sunny approach each other and discuss how they were able to follow their own dreams. Sunny claims that this is only chapter one of their story, so they must continue on. He then remarks on Johnny's tracksuit he always wears and reveals he made him a brand new one. Johnny is very happy and he quickly puts it on to show him and the girls, who watch from a distance as he happily shows it off.
