Story[]
Akari and her friends are officially second year junior high students at the Academy, but there are two new idols causing a buzz in the Idol Community; Rin Kurosawa, a girl who well known for her "lightning dancing", and the "fluffy smile" Madoka Amahane.
Summary[]
As Akari, Sumire, Hinaki, and Juri Starlight School they discuss the upcoming Entrance Ceremony.
Meanwhile, there are two other girls approaching the school. One is very excited to be taking her first steps towards an idol, while the other comments on how she's surrounded by so many and addresses the School.
The girls have picked up their papers regarding their mentor work as second years and discuss their determination to do well to teach their younger school-mates. Akari reveals that she has been given Rin Kurosawa to mentor and Hinaki recognizes her name, saying she is a girl who uploads videos of her dancing online. Sumire then reveals that she got Madoka and they recognize her last name and realize she is related to Asuka Amahane, the top designer of Angely Sugar.
Seeing Rin up ahead Akari rushes up to her side to greet her, suprising Rin for a moment until Akari congratulates her for making it into the School. Rin is very excited upon recognizing her, as she's a fan of her weather reports, and as the duo speak the other three comment on how naturally they get along until seeing Madoka nearby observing them. She apologizes for staring and introduces herself to Sumire, and Madoka is very happy realizing she will be her mentor, commenting on how cute she is. They are joined by Akari and Rin to introduce her and everyone heads over to the Entrance Ceremony. Rin admits to being nervous and she gets flustered as after they point out how cute she looks.
Meanwhile, Johnny walks with Orihime and they discuss the fact that they haven't had any problems as of yet. Orihime believes this to be a good thing, though she teases Johnny by bringing up the brand new teacher beginning this semester.
An assembly is held to congratulate the new students for being accepted into the school, where Orihime tells them that they will depend on themselves to see where their idol career goes, and Johnny appears to introduce everyone to the brand new teacher, Naoto. The girls are highly surprised by this since he usually worked as the groundkeeper before and curiously wonder what he will be teaching now. He's asked to give an introductory speech, but Naoto only says his name and tells them to treat him as they did previously.
A while later Akari watches Rin and Johnny as they exchange handshakes. She comments on how cool they look and Rin is surprised by Johnny's comment that they seem to be on the same wavelength. Orihime takes out Rin's ID Card, the Aikatsu Phone, and her school coord set and hands them over while explaining how important the Aikatsu cards are to an Idol. She suggests that Rin study with Johnny as much as she can, as an experienced dancer, and the girls leave the office after some words of encouragement. Akari assures Rin that if she needs someone to talk to, she can come to her and Rin compliments Akari for being everything she expected, saying that she was always able to brighten her day.
Outside by the fountain, Juri and Hinaki are speaking with the freshmen they were assigned to mentor. Hinata, the girl under Hinaki is very bubbly and lively, and Juri believes them to be a good match. Hinaki likes how Juri and Shizuka are polar opposites, and Juri comments that Shizuka calms her down, with Shizuka agreeing by saying she livens her up. They are joined by Sumire, Madoka, Akari, and Rin, who were making their way towards the dorms. Juri thinks this is a good idea and explains that she and Hinaki were heading to the Cafeteria.
As they share a room Rin and Madoka agree now would be a good time to unpack and they thank Sumire and Akari for helping them. Madoka is amazed by the large size of her new room and sits down, and Rin requests addressing her by her first name. Madoka agrees as long as she can do the same, and they help each other unpack and get settled. However, Madoka is curious and points out that Rin hadn't started on her own items, but Rin insists it will go faster this way. While unpacking Rin surprises Madoka by bringing up the Audition for new students and asks if she will be participating, wishing her luck if she decides to do it.
In class, Naoto explains the audition to everyone and how the winner will become model for the front cover of the New Student Directory for the school. The students must apply in pairs and suggests they find partners, then he calls to Johnny, having seen him hiding behind the nearby door. He claims that he wasn't, causing everyone to laugh.
Later, Madoka and Rin explain this to Akari and Sumire, and Akari explains how its a yearly thing, and because they're roommates they have decided to partner together. Akari and Sumire are sure they'll do great and the foursome heads to the practice room to get in some dance training. Rin does some warm-ups and amazes the other three, then she offers to teach Madoka how to dance this way too. Madoka eagerly promises to follow her lead, but Rin assures her she doesn't have to, only to promise the same thing to her as they will become one throughout this audition.
Madoka soon asks Rin when she began to dance and Rin explains that as a child she was learning gymnastics -showing her a flip as proof- when she one day saw some street dancers in the park, and the allure was too strong for her to resist. She wanted to learn how to dance and become like them, and she set out to do it, wanting to an idol who could excite the fans with both her singing and dancing. Hearing this, Madoka comments that she wants to learn more about Rin, and as they resume training the girls decide that as they are different, they should focus on having fun for the audition.
The girls spend the rest of the day practicing their dance until they take a break. Rin compliments Madoka for how well she did and she thanks her, saying she helped her improve. They are joined by Akari and Sumire, who have come with some snacks for them, and Akari remarks that she isn't surprised to find them there. Madoka comments on how her body adjusted to Rin's movements pretty quickly, and Akari believes this means they will do really well.
On the day of the audition the girls impatiently wait for their turn. Madoka is a bit worried over her dance knowing she isn't an expert like Rin, but she's happy that she has learned to convey her feelings to express the fun she has while performing. She loves to dance with Rin and this feeling resonates within Rin, who recalls saying the same thing when she was with her Instructor, who was able to make her learn that she needs to focus on just having fun to convey feelings to the audience. As Madoka remarks on how nice this person sounds they are called to begin.
At the changing area they find Johnny waiting with some words of encouragement. They thank him and continue on, inserting their schools and they appear on stage to perform "Let's Aikatsu".
Afterwards, Naoto reveals they won the audition, much to their surprise and excitement. On stage Orihime congratulates the girls and voices confidence in them by saying how much she is looking forward to seeing what their future Aikatsu will bring. The girls share some words to and the audience cheers.
