To the Wing's Dream (夢へのツバサ) is the 100th episode of Aikatsu! TV anime series and the 50th episode of its "2nd Season" (
Story[]
After WM's heart-lifting performance it's finally time for 2Wings to step onto the stage and give the final Twinkle Star Cup performance. Which unit will come out on top?!
Summary[]
The entire arena is overwhelmed by WM's amazing performance, including Orihime, Tiara, and Ringo, who joins them to remark on how it went. The girls are equally impressed, but wanting to encourage Ichigo and Seira they leave their seats to locate them. As this is going on, Mizuki and Mikuru decide to do the same in order to watch their performance.
Meanwhile, Akari rushes to 2WingS dressing room where she finds Aoi, Ran, Ki, and Noel outside of it. She is invited to join them and the girls step into the room to find Ichigo and Seira discussing their upcoming plans; such as Ichigo wanting to come up with an event she can participate in, and Seira wanting to form an idol band and coming up with her own cool brand, followed by a variety of other things. The group join them and Akari is surprised to see how spirited Ichigo is; having assumed she would be nervous because of how great WM performed. Nobody is really surprised by this behavior though, with both girls already thinking of their next steps rather than just focusing on this major performance they are about to do. After the group wish them luck, Ichigo and Seira take off for the changing area and exchange words before inserting their Gemini unit coord cards, changing into them and appearing on stage to perform "Friend".
Afterwards, the announcer explains that with both units having performed they will now be collecting votes from all over the world to see which unit will claim victory. As the group stand backstage anxiously waiting for results, they discuss how both units did amazingly, then they return their focus to the stage as WM and 2WingS are called back out on stage to announce the results. The scores appear neck-and-neck the entire time, until just at the end, when 2WingS takes the lead by a segment and is proclaimed the winner. Everyone is shocked by the announcement before it slowly sinks in, followed by applause and cheers of congratulations; with Mizuki's approval being the think that snaps Ichigo out of her daze.
The announcer comes by the interview each of the four girls. He asks Seira if she has anyone to thank, and she not only mentions being inspired by WM, but how she had many friends, Tiara, and Noel helping to guide her back when she was just starting out, and she expresses how happy she feels to have won. He then asks Ichigo if she felt nervous, which she denies, explaining how she felt great seeing them perform, and she was very happy to have Seira by her side. He asks if she has any goals now that they won this tournament and Ichigo states "tons", saying that while this was her goal up until now, she had already set up many for the future and now she's excited to get started on them; words that appear to resonate with Mizuki. He congratulates Mikuru for giving such a good performance and she thanks him before revealing her big announcement of putting her idol career on hold to focus on the upcoming Gardening Tournament she'd like to enter. She thanks everyone for giving her support while she was part of WM, and the Announcer moves on to Mizuki, with everyone dead silent as she boldly takes his microphone and steps forward.
Mizuki begins by explaining her feelings these years as an Idol. How happy she was being able to inspire others, and how she felt to be able to touch so many. She is very happy, and as such she believes her Aikatsu dream has come true as of today, being able to perform on the greatest stage thus far. But she doesn't plan on quitting yet- she will continue to aim further and keep performing as she continues inspiring future idols. She is given the Twinkle Star Cup trophy and she presents it to Ichigo and Seira, with everyone cheering one last time.
The arena clears out, with Ringo and Orihime staying behind to exchange words as they observing the empty stage before them. They remark on how Mizuki has surpassed them, and she thanks them, revealing she was nearby. As this is going on, Johnny and Tiara exchange words as well as they admire the display revealing 2WingS has won.
In the dressing room, Mizuki and Mikuru shake hands and Mizuki promises to support Mikuru. But she stops to reveal she came up with another dream, proclaiming that instead of performing with Mizuki she wants to become her rival. She admired watching Ichigo and Seira and see how far they pushed each other to surpass her, so once she places first in the Gardening Tournament she'll be back.
Aoi, Ran, and Kii head to 2WingS room to congratulate the girls, but they come in to find they have fallen asleep. They quietly congratulate them for their success.
